Seven golden disks appear to float above organza shadows over the surface of this textile artwork.  Pieced linear shibori striped silk charmeuse fabric, quilted to mirror the maze like pattern are accented with arcs of metalic stitching and pigment painted glazed gold canvas discs.

This was the first piece I conceived and constructed after moving to Denver.  It was originally created to be included in "Spun: Adventures in Textiles", a 2013 museum-wide celebration of textiles as an art form at the esteemed Denver Art Museum, alongside the mesmerizing exhibition of Nick Cave's "Sound Suits."  This Art Quilt now resides in the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum.
